Week 24, June 2011. “JB in water colour”
Nikon 90d, 35mm, 1/8sec @ f1.8, ISO 500
Reminiscing family walks during my younger days with a walk with my parents after Dad’s birthday dinner. It has been awhile…
Week 20, May 2011. “The Show”
Nikon 90d, 35mm, 1/50 sec @ f1.8, ISO 3200 1.8
Sitting by the river steps, watching the lights of MBS putting on a show. If not for a movie I was rushing for, I could stay there forever. Apologise for the grainy picture. Next time I will bring a tripod
Week 19, May 2011. “Prayers”
Nikon 90d, 35mm, 1/1600 sec @ f1.8, ISO Lo.0.3
I took a walk from Doby Ghaut to Bugis street for some picture moment and I came across this Indian temple, attracted by the chanting of prayers coming in from within and its devotees actively walking in to offer their worships in mid-afternoon. There were a few tourists taking pictures around and I was even mistook for a tourist! So I was pretty embarrassed to continue taking pictures and called it a day after the last few shots of the temple.
However, upon revisiting the pictures I took when I got home, I was actually amazed how the mundane sights that we’ve overlooked and had taken for granted as mere backgrounds in our daily lives can also be so worthwhile to be captured.
This gives me an inspiration. Next time, I shall go around and take pictures of Singapore in the viewpoint of a tourist. Learn to see things in a different light.

Week 17, April 2011. “The Second Coming”
Nikon 90d, 18mm, 1/4000sec @ f22, ISO LO.03
Isaiah 30:25-26
25 In the day of great slaughter, when the towers fall, streams of water will flow on every high mountain and every lofty hill.
26 The moon will shine like the sun, and the sunlight will be seven times brighter, like the light of seven full days, when the LORD binds up the bruises of his people and heals the wounds he inflicted.

They say the light of God is so brilliant that you’ll go blind trying to look straight into it. And that’s exactly the same light I thought I saw that very day—-bright blinding brilliant light. Maybe Jesus is coming back soon.
Week 23, June 2011. “Give that boy a Nikon!”
Nikon 90d, 35mm, 1/60 sec @ f1.8, ISO 250 1.8 Flash
Future photographer in the making. Cheeky Andre refuses to let go of Aung Myint Kyaw’s D300 for the night!
Week 18, May 2011. “Rest & take flight”
Nikon 90d, 48mm, 1/1600 sec @ f5, ISO LO.03
The very same day I took “The Second Coming”, I saw an interesting silhouette of pigeons perched on top a lamppost against the bright back-light of the sun. I had a perfect image composed in my mind; the moment one of them take flight, with the wings spread out. Then came the chance in split seconds but I missed it. That moment was when this bird with its wing spread out joined the crowd. Pity I wasn’t quick enough. Unfortunately, such chances don’t come twice, unless of cause if I have the whole day to wait… which I didn’t have then. Enjoy.
Week 16, April 2011. “When you say nothing at all”
Nikon 90d, 105mm, 1/125sec @ f5.6, ISO 1250
Sometimes love is about sitting still. To sit still, in patience and in silence; to sit and enjoy each other’s company without saying a single word. Soon, you will find the troubles, conflicts and distractions of the world blurring into a distance. That is when you find peace, happiness and boundless love between two.
That’s why the Bible starts love with… patience.
“Love is patient,
love is kind.
It does not envy,
it does not boast,
it is not proud.
It is not rude,
it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered,
it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil
but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects,
always trusts,
always hopes,
always perseveres.
Love never fails.”
- 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8
